Flood Clean-up Working Bee (2) Mid Sat Morning

Members working bee to clean-out mud and return equipment at SBSC

What to bring

  • A change of clothes or something to protect your car upholstery.
  • Gloves, garden or heavy rubber.
  • Sun-smart clothes and hats.
  • A water bottle with water.
  • Snacks to keep your energy up
  • Garden tools (please put your name on them):
  • A wheelbarrow can be useful
  • Shovels and spades, rakes
  • Yard brooms
  • If you have a builder’s fan or large diameter floor fan and there is power that could be helpful, let us know.
  • Bucket and strong cloth and or brush for indoor cleaning
  • Strong LED lights will be really useful for the darker recesses of the sheds

Some of the tasks

  • Identify loss and damage
  • Clean mud from the lower shed shower rooms and shed
  • Clean mud from the grassed areas that we use / rigging lawn
  • Put away the boats on the median strip and any others we can at the end of the morning
  • Mop out the upper level
  • Return upper level things to their normal places, if dry enough
  • Prepare a list of damaged and lost items 

  • Reconcile returned items

Before Saturday we will be

  • Undertaking full structural assessment of the building and grounds
  • Checking for any significant damage
  • Checking electricals and plumbing
  • Restoring electrials if safe to do so
  • Moving any hazardous objects or materials

Also

  • The Working Bee is limited to members of SBSC, WECC and BRRC only
  • Please consider other activities for your children under 12 unless closely supervised
